My story

It all started with Laima

Hello, my name is Lilya!

You are very welcome to my art world. Love for animals has always been a big part of me. It was impossible for me to pass by an abandoned animal — that's why our four-pawed family became bigger through the years.

But if you ask me why I started painting animal portraits — everything started because of my Laima.

I started painting pet portraits in memory of my biggest love, my sweetheart dog. She left such a deep mark on my life that I wanted to preserve that love through my art.

In time I realized it is much more than just a pet portrait. These are emotions, memories, special moments, and a connection so strong that no one can describe it in words.

In my paintings, their stories keep living. For me, it is a big honour and happiness to create work that helps people keep pieces of their love a little closer to them.

I paint it for you

I paint every portrait myself, start to finish — and send you a progress photo along the way, so you can watch it come to life.

Your portrait can be painted on a traditional rectangular canvas or a unique round canvas. Not sure which shape would suit your pet best? I'd be happy to help you choose the perfect option for your portrait!

  • Prices are for one pet per portrait.
  • Portraits featuring two or more pets are quoted individually.
  • Larger sizes are available upon request.
  • Each portrait is made to order using your photographs as reference.
  • Frames are available upon request for an additional fee.
  • Shipping is calculated separately (by destination, size and weight) and paid by the customer.

Questions, answered simply

What photo should I send?

A clear, close-up photo in natural light works best — one where your pet's eyes and personality shine through. If you're not sure, send two or three and I'll help you choose.

Why oil on canvas?

Oil is rich, warm and deeply textured, and its colours stay true for generations. It's the one medium I paint in — every portrait is an original oil painting on canvas.

How long does a portrait take?

The painting itself usually takes up to 2 weeks, depending on the size and complexity of the artwork. Larger or more detailed pieces may need a little more time.

What happens after the painting is finished?

Three steps: 1) Drying — oil paint can take several weeks to dry properly. 2) Varnish — a protective coat is applied. 3) Shipping — once the varnish has dried, your painting is packed with care and shipped. So the total wait is longer than the painting time alone.

Will you keep me updated?

Yes — I'll keep you updated throughout the whole process, from the first brushstrokes to the day your painting ships.

Do you ship?

Yes — worldwide, from Canada. Your painting is carefully packaged, and tracking is provided once it has shipped.

Who pays for shipping?

The customer — shipping is calculated by destination, size and weight. Any customs duties or import taxes in your country are also the buyer's responsibility.
